50 Cities 50 Hashes: David O’Brien at Herb Street in Dublin
Ireland is famous for a few things. Our beautiful country, a certain black stout and our long standing love affair with the potato. Therefore, it was only fitting that Dublin would appear on the Hashcapade map. So recently, myself and a few friends went along to Herb Street on Dublin’s Grand Canal Dock.
Herb Street is a popular brunch spot in Dublin and we were set to get our corned-beef hash fix! Despite our love of the potato, hash is a rare enough dish to find on menus around Dublin. Thankfully, we lucked out here – Herb Street serves it with their version of the ‘Full Irish’ breakfast.
Along with bacon, sausage, black pudding, poached eggs, we we’re served a generous tower of hash. It was delicious! Potato with peppers and generous chucks of corned beef, seasoned well. With generous portions on offer we all had a leisurely brunch overlooking the impressive vista of Dublin’s Grand Canal Dock.
It was a great occasion to get together with friends and enjoy brunch on a lazy Saturday morning. I am very grateful to be part of the 50 city Hashcapades- it is a fantastic project to be a part of. Any excuse to spend more time with friends eating brunch eh?
