50 Cities 50 Hashes: Sara Lehman at Blue Water Grill in New York City!
Holy Hashcapade! Picture this: warm Sweet Potato hash with fresh Scallions and Jumbo Lump Crab Meat, paired with an Austrian Grüner Veltliner… sounds enticing right? This Hash can be yours at Blue Water Grill in Union Square, NYC!

The Hashcapades hit NYC this chilly March, so we warmed up with some delicious hash at this hot east side spot. Now, usually one would expect that hash usually is just a side dish, but here is it quite a meal and must be the main course! You will see it is listed as a side on their menu, but it is perfect for one and is warm, filling, and oh so satisfying.

When being served great hash, its important to have a very welcoming atmosphere as this is a fun, creative, and very unique side dish. Luckily at Blue Water Grill it is a very friendly and fun ambiance, making this one of the best spots in NYC to get this delicious hash. The wine list is also perfect for a hash lover, as both the New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc and Austrian Grüner Veltliner pair beautifully with this dish. These cool, crisp, fruit forward whites bring out the meatiness of the crab and the sweetness in the sweet potatoes, making this one perfect pairing!
