50 Cities 50 Hashes: Brandie Kajino at Petite Provence in Portland!
There are hashes, and there are Hashes. If I had to pick one place on earth to have corned beed or smoked salmon hash, it’s going to be at Petite Provence. They know how to do it right, and they deliver every time. Even better, it’s one of several hasha-licious locations – La Provence is the original restaurant, followed by it’s little (hence, “petite”) offspring. They are glorious and give a french spin on the tasty tasty bistro and bakery. The smell alone will send you into a food coma.

My goal is to seek and enjoy some of the world’s most truly unique dining experiences, and being an avid social media user makes this goal much more obtainable. About a year ago, I had the pleasure of meeting Clark, a.k.a. @hashcapades, and he shared his 50 Cities 50 Hashes vision with me. I immediately saw this as an opportunity to delve into a new culinary arena, and experience some truly amazing food.

As a long-standing, card-carrying member of Team Hash, I was thrilled to host a “Hashcapade” here in LA. Part of my responsibility for the LA Hashcapade was choosing the restaurant with the main requirement being that they serve hash. I’d recently heard humongous buzz about Cooks County on Beverly Blvd. – including this recent piece from LA Magazine rating it the #1 Best New Restaurant. Upon checking the Cooks County website and siting their Braised Grass Fed Beef Hash, I just knew the LA Hashcapade had to be there. So, let’s hurry to the Hash, shall we?
